HAPPY 2011!

New Year?

New Resolutions?
Let's call them NEW CHALLENGES instead of resolutions!

Did you know....

50% of Americans make New Year's Resolutions and about 75% of them keep these resolutions for the first week of the new year only??? As many as 46% keep their resolutions for the first six month....that's not a big figure! (Source: npr.org)
Therefore....let me help you make resolutions (challenges!) you can stick with!

Here are my top 5:
1. Be realistic. Be specific. - Be practical and relevant and set a time limit so you can measure your progress.
2. Make plans in advance and write down your goals. - Have a small book, journal, blackberry diary list, that only YOU have access to. It is important that you also write down how you will reward yourself.
3. Be detailed with your plans. - Be truthful about the reasons for wanting to reach the goal. Remember why you failed before and how you can learn from these lessons/experiences.
4. Take it one day or one minute at a time. - Tell yourself it's just for today and measure your progress steadily. Don't place a heavy burden on yourself.
5. Stick to it for at least six (6) weeks. - Research shows us that most new habits become part of your routine within six weeks, and if you can keep it up for six months, your on your way to a lifelong habit!
Stay warm this January,
